Consulting Services

We offer clients a comprehensive audit of their network. The audit proceeds in three phases.

Discovery

The first phase is a comprehensive examination of a company’s IT infrastructure broken out into the following 6 categories:
  · Messaging Systems
  · Remote Access
  · Local Area Network
  · Security
  · Backup
  · Disaster Recovery

This comprehensive examination includes an assessment of every device on the network along with anything else of relevance to the IT infrastructure (e.g., climate control). Devices inspected include: desktop systems, laptops, mobile devices, printers, networking equipment, print servers, file servers, cabling, UPS…

This comprehensive examination also includes an assessment of every piece of software on the network: desktop software, router and firewall OS’s, messaging software, databases, enterprise applications…

We do a special drill-down on your messaging system, examining integration of its various capabilities, remote access, security, mobile messaging, and high availability.

What problems do we look for? The entire gamut including problems with capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery, environmental, security, configuration, performance, software licensing, warranties, outdated software versions, underpowered equipment, equipment faults…

Documentation

The output of our comprehensive examination is a detailed document.

The first section includes graphical, photographic, tabular, and textual information on every network component.

The second section are our recommendations, which we divide into the following topics:

  · Cost Savings Opportunities
  · Security
  · Stability
  · Performance
  · Fault Tolerance

Presentation of Findings

The final step is to meet with you to do a detailed review of our findings. We include recommended fixes to every problem we uncovered during the discovery phase, including typical implementation costs for those fixes.

We would hope, after seeing the quality of our work that you would contract with ZEI to fix the identified problems. However, the comprehensiveness of the documentation enables you to just as easily use in-house staff or another consulting organization to do the implementation.
